Fellowship Service is Showing Up By admin Posted on November 1, 2017 1 min read 1 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr Our Christmas Day marathon took place at an addiction resource center from 10 a.m. until noon. Among the eight people in attendance was my sister. It was her second OA meeting. I was grateful for the opportunity to practice the Twelfth Step by sharing this program with a newcomer. The leaders of the meeting focused on daily readings from OA literature, discussion, and some recovery crossword puzzles thrown in for fun. (The puzzles had a couple of tricky answers, so I sneakily texted my spouse for a little extra help.) This time of year can be difficult for many people who connect food and the holidays with memories both positive and negative. For me, attending a meeting on a holiday was awesome. It helped me keep my spirit and attitude grounded in gratitude. I didn’t need to eat over any of it.
