Home Meetings Still Possible

Still Possible

When I started going to meetings years ago, I went to face-to-face meetings. I thought attending face-to-face meetings each week was the only way I could work program. However, in the past two years I have struggled with health issues, making weekly attendance at face-to-face meetings impossible.

During this time, I discovered new ways to work my OA program. Now, I make sure to join phone meetings every week. Even when I cannot talk, I listen and remember I am not alone. I am part of a Fellowship of recovering compulsive overeaters.

I had to give up my service positions because I could not guarantee my attendance at face-to-face meetings. When I asked my Higher Power for help with the Tool of service, Higher Power showed me I could write down phone numbers of people at the phone meetings who requested outreach calls. I now serve by calling people who need a call.

Along with the Tools of meetings and service, I practice a plan of eating, talk to my sponsor, read my literature, practice anonymity, write, and work the Steps with my sponsor. Program is possible, even when I am stuck at home.
