As a former church worker, I thought I had a corner on the God business. Was I ever wrong! Whether I’m in my Sunday morning men’s meeting or hearing from men attending other meetings, I’m always awed by the surrender I hear in the stories men share. Surrender is not always easy for men. We don’t take well to losing, whether on the field, on the court, or in life. But in losing, we win. In my religious tradition, springtime is for new beginnings and rebirth. OA has given me a rebirth in my relationship with God and with the human race. My OA friends have taught me powerful lessons about living. Thank you, God and OA. — Edited and reprinted from Novation newsletter, Northern Virginia Outreach Intergroup, March 2002
