Every Opportunity

This is in response to “Outside Issues” (September 2017). Almost everything in my life is technically an outside issue! But those are the things I would eat over, so I find it important to talk about them in a general way in meetings, as well as share them in greater depth with close program friends. When I am in the disease, I behave badly towards my pets—just as I do in all my relationships and all situations in my life. When I am in recovery, every relationship, including those with animals, and every situation is an opportunity to apply my healthy program attitudes and Step Principles so I can learn and grow.
