Literature Tools & Concepts A “Just for Today” Action Plan By kmcguire@oa.org Posted on September 1, 2020 2 min read 1 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr Usually, I spend part of my quiet time meditating on the Just for Today wallet card. One day this week, I felt kind of “blah” about the day that lay ahead, so I decided to see how I could specifically apply the Just for Today affirmation as an action plan. “Just for today, I can stay home and take down all my holiday decorations. Just for today, I can feel happy that my holiday season was so nice and enjoy the memories of each ornament as I store it away. Just for today, I will live in each moment, in life on life’s terms. Just for today, I will strengthen my mind by attending to the insurance questions I need to research. Just for today, I will exercise in two ways even though I don’t really want to. Just for today, I won’t find fault with my life or anyone else’s! Just for today, I will practice my program with quiet time, a phone call, and a food plan, all of which give me better perspective on my life. Just for today, I will be unafraid of the future and of dance class tonight; I will participate to the very best of my ability. Just for today, I will act as if I am loving, forgiving, faithful, hopeful, light-filled, and joyful. Amen.” — GVB
