Gratitude Recovery Blessings Count By admin Posted on November 1, 2018 2 min read 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr As a child, I was taught that if you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all. Now that I’m a member of Overeaters Anonymous, that axiom takes a different slant: if I have nothing nice to say, it’s time to count my blessings. So here is today’s gratitude list: I am grateful for the people in my life. I am perhaps a challenging man to remain friends with, as I spend stretches of time alone, but I have true appreciation for my family and friends. God has blessed me with excellent health. I am able to enjoy many forms of exercise and generally willing to eat the right types of food. The world is full of talented artists, and I relish their work—from music to literature, journalism, film, and television. I’m blessed with so many terrific ways to spend time. I have been given an abundance of possessions and wealth. I live in a one-bedroom apartment and drive an eleven-year-old vehicle, but I know in my heart I am richly blessed, as I have a life of freedom and choice. Thank you, Higher Power, for another glorious day. — I.B., Los Angeles, California USA
