Meetings Tools & Concepts One More Tool By admin Posted on April 1, 2018 1 min read 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr I have been abstinent from bulimia for eleven years and abstinent from anorexia for ten years. I access the oa.org website to learn about all types of meetings so I can participate. Relying on the fact that I have choices about face-to-face, phone, and online meetings helps my recovery because I know I can use that meeting Tool and be of service in such ways. Successful abstinence for a day means that day is successful, even if nothing else gets accomplished. Living the message is the most powerful means of sharing recovery. Recently, two coworkers asked me about my 3-0-1 approach to eating. My honest answer, which included OA as my pillar of strength, lent a message of hope that both of them were seeking. Prior to their inquiry, I’d simply abstained daily with witnesses. Social media is a friend to the still-suffering compulsive overeater. Social media is a friend to the OA longtimer. Social media is one more tool for my OA recovery toolkit, for which I am most grateful. — Margaret M.
