Literature Tools & Concepts Taking Initiative By admin Posted on May 1, 2019 1 min read 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Share on Reddit Share on Pinterest Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr I recently became a Lifeline rep. One of my initiatives was to get my home group to subscribe to Lifeline, not just for us, but for outreach too. We ordered one print subscription for our group plus three additional subscriptions. We keep our three extra issues in a special bag. When a newcomer shows up for a first meeting, we give him or her a newcomer chip, a meeting list, a newcomer packet, and a little outreach card—members who are present that day write their phone numbers on it. When that newcomer shows up for a second meeting, we give him or her a copy of Lifeline. I was able to get three different meetings to add subscriptions this way. I sent eight subscription orders to the World Service Office in one go! And when we received a For Today book, after consulting with those groups that subscribed, I put it into our next raffle basket. — Karin J., Sydney, Australia
